Emma joined Bristows in 2015 from another high-ranking London based patent litigation firm. Her practice focuses on pharmaceutical patent litigation as her background in chemistry and client secondments to two global pharmaceutical companies have given her an excellent understanding and appreciation of the issues that arise in this area.
Emma works on both UK litigation and international litigation, requiring co-ordination between different national actions. In the UK, she has experience in the High Court (the Patents Court), the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.
As part of her degree, Emma spent twelve months as a research chemist for a global pharmaceutical company. Further, during her time at Bristows, she has completed two six month client secondments to the patent litigation teams of two further global pharmaceutical companies, one innovator and one generic.
Since 2015, Emma has co-authored Bristows’ annual Patent Review of the Year publication (PROTY). She is also a member of AIPPI and ChIPs and is a contributor to the CIPA Journal and the Kluwer Patent Blog.
