<p>Stefano regularly advises on a range of <a href="/expertise/sectors/life-sciences/">life sciences</a> and <a href="/expertise/sectors/technology/">tech</a> and telecommunication transactions (often cross-border in nature), such as complex and high-value licensing agreements, research contracts, manufacturing agreements, distribution agreements, franchising, settlement agreements, technology transfer and spin-out deals, supply chain arrangements and product acquisitions/divestments, supporting pharmaceutical and biotech companies.</p>
<p>Stefano also has experience in advising on AI, LLM models and other technologies with particular application on medical devices. He has also expertise on data protection and on the commercial and IP aspects of corporate and financing transactions.</p>
<p>Stefano advises the full range of clients across the life sciences and tech and telecommunication sectors, including large, medium and small companies, academic and research institutions, startups, medical device companies, clinical trials organisations, investors and multinational pharmaceutical/biotech companies.</p>

<li>Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts (such as IP licenses, SaaS agreements, collaboration agreements, software licences, agency agreements, service agreements, sponsorships, franchising, studentship agreements, incorporation, IP charges, NDAs, settlements etc) for pharma and biotech companies.</li>
<li>Advising large, medium and small companies and the UK government on IPRs (ie Patents, Trade Marks, Trade-Secrets, Design, Copyright and related rights and Know-how and Confidential Information).</li>
<li>Advising companies and startups on IT, including the EU AI Act and other legislation on Artificial Intelligence, and dealing with issues posed by LLMs and Generative AI.</li>
<li>Advising companies on specific topics of data protection and corporate law.</li>
</ul>
<p>Stefano also has a background in EU and Italian law and he is a dual qualified lawyer (England & Wales and Italy).</p>
<p>Stefano is passionate about legal research, and is an author of different publications in first class academic journals and law books regarding several topics, such as: commercial and legal issues posed by Artificial Intelligence, the Doctrine of Equivalence in patent infringements, the protection of well-known trade marks, online infringements, the protection of shape marks, liability of online platforms, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, legal and commercial issues related to spin-out companies, etc.</p>
