Emily Ryder

Senior Associate

Emily is a senior associate in the commercial IP team.

She specialises in non-contentious intellectual property and commercial matters. She also has broad experience of advising on a range of IP and commercial matters, with a particular focus on advising clients in the tech, life sciences, consumer/luxury brands and media sectors.

Emily advises on transactions relating to the development, exploitation and transfer of IP rights, including R&D, collaboration, joint venture, and licensing arrangements. She also advises on a range of commercial agreements with an IP element – including distribution, franchise and sponsorship agreements.

Emily has experience of advising clients on technology and IT matters, including software development and supply, licensing and services agreements, and e-commerce arrangements.

In addition to this, she has spent time on secondment to the legal department of a leading university, and has experience of advising universities and research institutions on commercial and IP matters.

Emily joined Bristows as an associate in 2019.
