Kallie is an associate in the patent litigation team, where she advises on matters in both the life sciences and technology sectors.

Kallie has a background in biological sciences and agricultural biotechnology, focusing her master’s research on the identification of candidate genes involved in a stem cell signalling pathway in wheat, with the aim of manipulating plant architecture to improve crop yields.

During her training contract at Bristows, Kallie gained broad experience in contentious commercial and intellectual property matters, with a focus on the life sciences and technology sectors. Kallie also gained experience in Bristows’ life sciences regulatory team and completed an in-house secondment at Sanofi.

Kallie’s work highlights include:

• Hill v Touchlight Genetics Ltd & Ors – Acting for a biotechnology company in relation to its successful defence of a patent entitlement challenge concerning the development of an in-vitro DNA synthesis process
• Assisting in the coordination of complex multi-jurisdictional litigation in a major pharmaceutical patent dispute
• Assisting in a cross-border medical device technology dispute involving infringement, validity, and jurisdictional issues

Kallie maintains an interest in agricultural biotechnology, plant pathology and plant variety rights.
