Sukanya Majumdar

Trainee Solicitor

I became interested in Intellectual Property when I studied it as a module at university. When researching law firms that would allow me to pursue a career in this field, Bristows’ name was at the top of the list on pretty much every legal publication. Be it their stellar reputation within the sector or the guaranteed 6 month seat in IP litigation (unlike any other City law firm), Bristows was clearly the best firm to apply for to get involved in cutting-edge IP work.

Finding the right kind of work was only half of the battle; the other half was finding a working atmosphere that I’d want to be in for several hours of my day, for several years of my life. The more I interacted with people from the firm, starting with their ‘Introduction to IP’ presentation at university to the 2-day Winter Workshop , the more I could appreciate why it’s repeatedly described as a great place to work. There’s a very strong sense of camaraderie and everyone gets involved to help each other out.

From senior partners to receptionists to trainees, everyone I’ve met here has seems truly happy and proud to be part of the Bristows team. Just a few weeks in, I can already say that I feel the same.
