Remya is a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney. She joined the brands group of Bristows in 2013 and prior to this, spent over two years at a top-tier firm of trade mark attorneys.

Remya advises on contentious and non-contentious trade mark matters, as well as related copyright and design issues. She has substantial experience with brand clearance searches, devising filing strategies, portfolio management and UK and EUTM prosecution.  She also advises on trade mark disputes and handles a number of contentious proceedings (oppositions, revocation and invalidity actions) before the UK IPO and the EUIPO.  She is experienced in negotiating settlements, as well as in drafting co-existence agreements.  Remya also co-ordinates prosecution and contentious matters in a range of foreign jurisdictions by liaising with the firm’s network of overseas associates.

She works with a diverse range of clients in a variety of sectors from individuals through to global corporations and has spent time on secondment to the in-house legal department of a well-known multinational organisation.

Remya is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys.
