Jonathan Solomon


Jonathan joined Bristows in January 2022 from another top tier London-based patent litigation team. He trained at a magic circle firm and qualified in 2019.

Jonathan is an associate (with higher rights of audience) specialising in life sciences patent litigation. Jonathan has represented clients in complex cases relating to pharmaceuticals, antibodies, antibody engineering and medical devices. He has also advised on regulatory issues (supplementary protection certificates (SPCs), marketing exclusivities and marketing authorisations) and general IP strategies (including freedom to operate and due diligence exercises).

Jonathan has experience advising on legal issues such as res judicata, abuse of process and defences to patent infringement (including prior use, crown use and experimental use). Jonathan has an interest in artificial intelligence and its implications for life sciences.

Jonathan also advises on other IP rights including trade marks, designs, copyright and trade secrets.

During his training contract, Jonathan spent six months on secondment in the legal department of a large international airport.
