London-headquartered law firm Bristows today announced the hire of media disputes specialist Alex Keenlyside. Formerly in the TMT disputes team at Pinsent Masons, Alex joined Bristows’ Technology practice as a partner on Monday 2 December.

Alex is praised by clients as being “formidable” and “a passionate media law and litigation specialist”. His practice, which focuses on privacy, defamation and data protection disputes, is closely aligned with the firm’s litigation and data protection offering.

Alex commented: “I am looking forward to working at Bristows. The litigation and data protection teams are made up of brilliant lawyers and the firm stands out for its inclusive culture and innovative clients.” Bristows’ Technology practice recently won the Legal 500 Award for TMT Firm of the year 2020.

Mark Watts, Head of Technology, said: “Alex is a great addition to the Technology team. He has already worked with a number of the firm’s clients, including Google, and played a key role on the Google cases related to the ‘right to be forgotten.’ I am very glad he’s now able to join us.”

Joint Managing Partner Liz Cohen also welcomed Alex to Bristows: “Alex is a great fit for the firm. The unique combination of his expertise across media law, litigation and data protection is the ideal complement to the firm’s existing practices and adds another layer of depth to our sector offering.”
