We announced today the addition of Nellie Jackson as a partner to the firm’s Brands, Designs and Copyright practice.
Nellie brings her experience in international IP portfolio management to the firm. She joins a team which has won numerous awards, including MIP UK Trademark Disputes Firm of the year three times in a row. The four partners assist major brands -including McDonald’s, Financial Times, Diageo, Cadbury- with their national and international trade mark portfolios, soft IP rights infringements and disputes, as well as advertising and marketing regulation compliance.
Nellie has twenty years of experience in brand protection and exploitation, international trade mark portfolio management, and IP disputes, working with clients in the consumer products, hospitality and leisure, IP disputes, technology and media sectors. She started her career as a solicitor and trade mark attorney at a leading New Zealand IP firm and first joined Bristows in 2006 when she moved to the United Kingdom, obtaining her dual qualification at the firm. She left in 2016 when she moved out of London and spent five years building a successful trade mark practice at one of the top regional firms, and returns now to Bristows as a partner.
“I have followed the successes of my friends at Bristows over the past few years” said Nellie Jackson, “and I very much look forward to re-joining the group and contributing to its future success.”
Simon Clark, Head of the Brands, Designs and Copyright practice, commented: “It’s a pleasure to welcome Nellie to our team, and she comes just at the right time, as the team has been extremely busy for the last eighteen months, partly with all the Brexit-driven changes to IP portfolios.” He added: “Nellie’s experience will help us provide our high-quality service to even more clients.”
