Robert Bond shares his own history in compliance in SCCE podcast episode

Robert Bond gives his own account of compliance over the last 25 years

19.03.2021

Robert Bond recollects his own journey starting around 35 years ago, really in the thick of the technology and gaming boom, which led him to focus on data and privacy. As gaming firms and marketers were collecting vast amounts of data without knowing the risk or opportunities it posed, he was often assisting firms with how to make money out of peoples information, but ethically he considered “just because you can doesn’t always mean you should and what’s the worst that’s going to happen if we lose it, as in we lose peoples data?”

He also gives this advice to anyone just entering the field of privacy and compliance: “Don’t just think about privacy….you need to be cognisant of all the other compliance areas”, following on to say “think of the bigger picture and also think globally.”

Robert also talks about how he thinks privacy and compliance will evolve over the next 25 years. Listen to the full podcast on the Compliance & Ethics Blog website.
