The UK’s new consumer law regime

The Digital Markets, Competition
and Consumers Act 2024

The DMCC brings in some of the most significant and wide-ranging changes to advertising and consumer protection law in the UK in recent years. This has implications for everyone offering products or services to consumers in the UK.

There is now a new enforcement regime and several new consumer law offences attracting significant penalties. This includes fines of up to 10% of a company’s worldwide turnover. There will also be new obligations for companies dealing with subscription contracts, and offences relating to drip pricing practices and fake reviews.

Businesses are increasingly focusing on compliance in this area to manage the risks – our experts have experience across these issues to help get your business ready.
