The Council of AIPPI UK has unanimously chosen Bristows’ Associate Lucie Fortune to be the winner of the annual prize for the best contribution by a junior member to a response to a study question.
Each year the General Secretariat of AIPPI sets four study questions (on patents, trade marks, designs/copyright and remedies), the responses to which are debated at the AIPPI world congress and developed into resolutions which are sent to national IP offices around the world.
Lucie won the prize for her contribution to a question on the inventiveness and sufficiency of disclosure in AI inventions. The UK group’s response to this question, and others, will be discussed at this year’s congress, taking place online. Lucie’s prize – a generous financial contribution towards the cost of attending a world congress in person – will allow her to take part in a future congress of her choosing, most likely San Francisco in 2022.
