An NPE, Cascades, has accused a group of handset manufacturers of entering into a collective ‘boycott’ of licensing negotiations. The collusion is alleged to have been orchestrated via RPX, which has been described as “a defensive patent aggregator – an “anti-troll” – formed to protect its members from NPEs”.
