Every two years the members of the firm vote to select a nominated charity to be the beneficiary of our fund-raising activities over the next 24 months. Through organised events and activities, we aim to raise as much awareness, and money, as possible for the given charity.
We host a variety of fund-raising activities from bake sales, dress-up days, sponsored walks and runs, all the way to raffles and concert performances by our very own Bristows band, The Disclaimers! The grand total raised by the end of the two-year period is then donated to our chosen charity – our most recent efforts saw SANE receive a donation of over £23,000.
In 2024 we nominated Alzheimer’s Research UK to be our firm charity for the next two years. As the UK’s leading dementia research charity, they are working to revolutionise the way we treat, diagnose and prevent dementia. To kick off the year, we hosted an educational “lunch and learn” session to understand more about dementia, the work the charity does and tips on how to keep our brains healthy. We have also held a number of fundraising initiatives. By way of example, our keen bakers across the firm entered an orange-themed charity bake-off inspired by Alzheimer’s Research UK’s signature colour; and our sporty members of the firm have entered the next London Landmarks Half Marathon in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK (good luck team!).
Charities with whom we have worked in previous years have included Meningitis Research Foundation, Sane and Secondary 1st.
