Charities

Volunteering and fund-raising allows
us to support the excellent work of
hard-working organisations who are
championing serious and important causes.

Each year the firm selects a nominated charity and we do what we can to raise funds and awareness for these important issues through a series of events and activities.

The firm participates in any number of fund-raising activities throughout the year including bake sales, sponsored walks and runs, raffles, dress up days and special events. Some events may raise just a little and some may raise thousands – but it all goes to support our chosen charities.

The firm’s charity of the year is Meningitis Research Foundation. This charity was chosen after the untimely death of our friend and colleague, Joe Sako, who passed away on 15 November 2019. Joe was loved and admired by everyone with whom he worked, and he is sorely missed by all of us at Bristows. We are dedicating our fundraising during 2020 and 2021 to Joe’s memory.

We have also recently worked with Mind, which provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. The charity campaigns to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

On a very personal level, Bristows has also been involved in fundraising for Secondary1st in memory of our colleague Rosie Choueka who lost her fight against breast cancer in June 2015. The charity helps to fund vital research that is seeking a cure for secondary breast cancer.
