Event Information

[Please note that this event has already taken place.]

This series of webinars explored the science behind a range of life sciences technologies.

Aimed at in-house lawyers who are not already experts in a given technology but would like to know more, each session gave an overview of the science and jargon-busting tips, followed by some legal considerations and hot topics.

Session one overview

Therapeutic antibodies are big business and have revolutionized medicine since Köhler & Milstein developed the hybridoma technique in the 1970s. Starting from the basics (amino acids and proteins, antibody structure and binding), Bristows explained how therapeutic antibodies are generated (including bispecific antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates) and how the body’s innate immune response is utilised in vaccination.
