Alex Denoon, Life Sciences Regulatory Partner, is the only law firm representative on the Technology Subgroup of the National Commission on the Regulation of AI in Healthcare. The Commission’s Recommendations Report, launched on 10 September, sets out proposals for a regulatory framework intended to support the safe, effective and responsible use of AI in the UK.

The Commission was established under the auspices of the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) to help shape a world-leading regulatory framework for the use of AI in healthcare, supporting the UK Government’s 10 Year Health Plan and Life Sciences Sector Plan. The Recommendations are the product of sustained work by National AI Commissioners and Working Group members drawn from across technology, healthcare, regulation and patient advocacy, both in the UK and internationally.
