Recently Foss Patents organised a chat amongst experts on the component-level licensing of standard-essential patents (SEPs), covering the key developments surrounding the component-level licensing of SEPs in the past year.
The group, including Bristows partner Pat Treacy, Professor Christian Donle of Preu Bohlig, Jay Jurata of Orrick Herrington Sutcliffe and Paul Lugard of Baker Botts, also discussed the implications of the Dusseldorf Regional Court’s decision to refer to the European Court of Justice questions about component-level licensing, as well as the application of the Huawei v. ZTE framework.
