Oncology start-up Carrick attracts $95m funding

We are delighted to announce that our client, Carrick Therapeutics Ltd (‘Carrick’), has recently secured $95m in funding commitments from some of the most eminent providers of early stage capital. The round was led by ARCH Venture Partners and Woodford Investment Management with participation from Cambridge Enterprise, Cambridge Innovation Capital, Evotec, GV (formerly Google Ventures) and Lightstone Ventures. Carrick, headquartered in Ireland, is a new venture in cancer treatment which has brought together world-class cancer researchers and drug development experts. Elaine Sullivan (a former Vice President for research and development functions at both Eli Lilly and Astra Zeneca ) is the CEO. Bristows is appointed as UK legal advisor to Carrick. (The main Bristows team involved in working with Carrick are Fiona Nicolson and Iain Redford (Partners) Claire Smith (Senior Associate) and David Horner (Of Counsel).
