Andrew advises on a wide range of commercial and technology matters, with particular expertise in IT, IP, data and AI law. He regularly provides strategic guidance and leads large‑scale projects, including outsourcing arrangements, digital transformation initiatives, technology transfer agreements and work involving emerging technologies.

Andrew’s scientific background provides him with a deeper technical insight, making him a trusted adviser for clients seeking IP and data guidance on new initiatives while navigating complex regulatory requirements.

Andrew is recognised for his expertise in artificial intelligence, as an expert to the OECD Expert Group on AI, Data and Privacy, and regularly talks at events on IP issues in the context of AI and emerging technologies nationally and internationally.

Some of Andrew’s work highlights include:

  • Advising a major UK energy supplier on transforming the outsourcing of its fragmented supply chain to a single supplier, including a digital transformation to the supplier’s proprietary IT systems.
  • Advising on a digital transformation project in the water supply industry involving the creation and operation of a smart meter data hub, including on complex data protection and IP aspects.
  • Leading a large-scale contract remediation project and negotiating with suppliers for one of the UK’s largest insurers to ensure compliance with financial services regulation.
  • Advising a major American technology company providing a marketing automation platform on UK and EU regulation, including cybersecurity legislation.
  • Leading and managing negotiations with corporate sponsors of major sporting events and suppliers for bespoke high-end hospitality solutions, involving the provision of customised hybrid SaaS solutions.
