Privacy breach damages: High Court provides some insight

The Court of Appeal judgment in Vidal-Hall et al v Google opened the door to claims for “mere dis¬tress” (PL&B UK, May 2015, p. 1). The High Court judgment in TLT and others v Secretary of State for the Home Department1 has now provided some valuable insight into how damages for such claims will be calculated and adds to the growing body of case law in this area.
