Alex Denoon joins the firm as Head of the Regulatory Practice
Bristows law firm, leader in the life sciences and technology sectors, announced today the further enhancement of its Life Sciences Regulatory practice, with regulatory experts Alex Denoon and Julian Hitchcock joining from Marriot Harrison.
Alex Denoon, who has more than 20 years’ experience advising clients in the Life Sciences sector, joined the firm as a partner at the very end of 2018. Alex will lead the firm’s Life Sciences Regulatory Practice, a team of six experts advising on cutting-edge regulatory issues affecting the biopharma and medical devices industries. Given the firm’s focus on technology, the team also regularly advises on issues faced by clients who are active in areas such as digital health, robotics and AI.
Julian Hitchcock, who has also worked in the Life Sciences sector for more than 20 years, joined the firm as Of Counsel at the same time as Alex. Julian has a particular interest in cell and gene technologies.
Alex and Julian are the most recent additions to the Life Sciences Regulatory Practice, which also includes Of Counsel Xisca Borrás, who joined Bristows from Pfizer, Senior Associate Michaela Herron, and Associates Eleanor Denny and Zac Fargher. The recent growth of the practice is indicative of the firm’s long-term commitment to the Life Sciences sector and its ability to provide a full-service offering to clients in this highly-specialised area.
Alex commented: “I’m honoured to be at the head of such an experienced and talented group of lawyers, many of whom have industry experience and backgrounds, at one of Europe’s leading Life Sciences Practices. The regulatory landscape has never been more challenging for our clients, and we are excited to be dealing with some of the most ground-breaking technologies in the sector.”
Bristows Joint Managing Partner, Marek Petecki commented: “Bristows is one of the few Life Sciences-focused firms in Europe to have a dedicated team of regulatory experts. We are thrilled to welcome Alex and Julian to the team – they are both outstanding experts in their field, as well as being trusted by clients to deliver pragmatic advice in what can be a very difficult area of law to navigate.”
