Amy Cullen

Senior Associate

Amy is a senior associate in Bristows’ IP Litigation department, with a particular focus on patent litigation. Amy’s practice includes patent disputes in the pharmaceutical, telecoms and consumer products sectors.

Much of the pharmaceutical patent litigation on which Amy has worked involved multiple jurisdictions and required co-ordination between different national actions, including the preparation and review of technical evidence. Amy has been involved in cases and interim applications before the High Court and Court of Appeal and recently acted in patent infringement and revocation proceedings relating to a standard essential telecoms patent. In addition to her experience of complex patent litigation in the pharmaceutical and telecoms sectors, Amy is familiar with the interface of IP and competition law, for example in relation to SEP litigation and FRAND licensing.

Amy also has experience of copyright and trade mark infringement disputes and has advised on various aspects of contentious and non-contentious intellectual property work and strategy, including freedom to operate opinions. Her work on non-contentious IP included a three month secondment to the in-house legal team of a global IT outsourcing company. During her time in the competition department Amy gained experience of European and regulatory law, including work on FRAND, technology licensing issues and competition law litigation in the internet services sector.

Amy participated in Bristows’ UPC moot and is a contributor to Bristows’ reporting on EPO decisions for the CIPA Journal.
