Associate – Patent litigation
Fariha is an associate in the patent litigation team, where she advises on matters in both the life sciences and technology sectors.
Fariha has worked on a number of patent litigation cases across both the technology and life sciences sectors. Some of Fariha’s case highlights include:
- Panasonic v Xiaomi & OPPO – proceedings in the Patents Court regarding 3G and 4G Standard Essential Patents (SEPs) and global FRAND licensing terms. The case involved issues relating to patent essentiality, infringement, validity, and the appropriate framework for setting global FRAND rates in the telecommunications sector.
Throughout her time at Bristows, Fariha has gained broad experience across both advisory and transactional intellectual property work, having completed seats in corporate and commercial IP. She has also worked within the trademark, copyright and design team, where she was involved in a number of intellectual property disputes. In addition, Fariha undertook a secondment to Google’s International Litigation team, where she worked on cross-border disputes and global IP strategy.
