Philip is an IP specialist who has also advised on information technology issues for 30 years. His advice covers the full range of intellectual property rights and extends across all industries. With several of Philip's clients having substantial market shares, he has extensive experience of the interplay between competition law and intellectual property rights, and has handled a number of landmark cases.
 
Philip has advised on many high-profile IP and IT disputes, with his engineering background enabling him to tackle the most complex instructions. His IP clients come from many sectors including IT, telecoms, the agrochemical and pharmaceutical industries as well as engineering, oil exploration, chemical and other more traditional industries. Philip's IT experience extends to both contentious and non-contentious advice
 
He is Chairman of the IPLA, a member of the AIPPI and an associate of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys. He teaches patent law on the Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice course offered by the University of Oxford.
