Matthew is primarily concerned with transactions involving the development, exploitation and transfer of intellectual property rights.  He has worked across many practice areas including, IP, IT, eBusiness, pharmaceuticals/biotechnology and media, but has a particular interest in life sciences and information technology matters. His scientific background is of particular assistance when advising businesses that are negotiating transactions involving new technologies.  He has advised on a number of successful licensing programmes for the exploitation of new technologies on a world-wide basis.
 
Matthew has particular experience in negotiating commercial contracts for pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients including R&D collaboration agreements, clinical trial agreements, and licence agreements. He also advises pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients on the commercial and intellectual property law aspects of manufacturing, distribution, co-promotion and marketing agreements.  Matthew has presented seminars on bio-pharma licensing at the US Biotechnology Industry Organisation's annual Conferences.
 
Matthew advises on a wide range of transactions involving IT. He has extensive experience of negotiating major IT development and procurement contracts and maintenance, support and outsourcing arrangements.  Matthew advises established US and European companies on their new e-business ventures and joint ventures.
